Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how OpenASO handles information when you use the OpenASO iOS application.
OpenASO is a local-first workspace for App Store Optimization research. It lets you track public app listings, keyword positions, ratings, reviews, notes, and historical ranking snapshots.
Data collection
OpenASO does not require an account or sign-in. The app does not collect personal information, advertising identifiers, analytics data, or tracking data.
Data stored on your device
The following information may be stored locally:
- Apps you choose to track
- Keywords and selected storefronts
- Ranking snapshots and research history
- Notes, folders, preferences, and saved filters
- Imported CSV data
This information remains on your device unless you choose to export or share it.
Network requests
OpenASO connects to public App Store services to retrieve publicly available information such as app listings, search results, keyword positions, ratings, and customer reviews.
These requests may expose standard technical information, such as your IP address, to the service receiving the request. OpenASO does not operate a server that stores these requests.
Background refresh
If background refresh is enabled, iOS may allow OpenASO to update selected public App Store research periodically. Refreshed results are stored locally on your device.
Imports, exports, and backups
You may choose to import or export keyword and research data. Exported files are handled through locations or services you select using the iOS share interface. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
Data retention and deletion
Your research remains stored locally until you delete it in OpenASO or remove the app. Uninstalling the app removes its local data, subject to normal iOS backup and restore behavior.
Third-party services
OpenASO uses public App Store information to provide its research features. It does not use advertising SDKs or cross-app tracking.
If a future version introduces analytics, crash reporting, accounts, cloud sync, or another service that changes how data is handled, this policy will be updated.
Children's privacy
OpenASO is intended as a professional research utility and is not directed to children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
OpenASO relies on iOS application sandboxing and device security features to protect locally stored information. No method of electronic storage is completely secure.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when OpenASO changes. The revised version will be published here with an updated date.
